Earlier-Than-Ever Holiday Shopping

An online retailing firm says holiday shopping just continues starting earlier and earlier. Sara Skirboll from RetailMeNot.com says the old days of starting holiday shopping after Thanksgiving are mostly long-gone. In fact, she says shopping for the holidays is more often happening as early as the summer.

Skirboll says spending so far is up about four-and-one-third-percent from last year, and this year's tastes in holiday shopping are pretty much following recent tradition. She says 53-percent of people are looking for clothes, 51-percent want electronics and 32-percent are going for toys. And, of course, more and more people are shopping online.
