We’re always hearing about how more and more people will be doing their holiday shopping online, and because of that folks are getting pretty demanding when it comes to one thing – shipping.
A new survey reveals that when it comes to shipping, free is key, with 88% of consumers saying free shipping is more important that fast shipping, which only 12% prefer. Along those lines, 72% of shoppers say they expect to take advantage of free shipping offers this season, while 65% of consumers believe they should still be able to get free shipping after December 17th.
As for “fast shipping,” 72% of consumers define that as getting their deliveries in two days or less, while 35% say between three to four days is fast. And while people do want things fast, they aren’t willing to pay more for it, with 64% of people admitting they wouldn’t spend extra money for two-say shipping. They would, however be willing to spend up to $3.80 for next-day shipping.
Because “fast” and “free” is so important to some people, 43% of respondents say they expect to buy things online and pick them in store, with 62% doing so because they’ll save on shipping and 48% saying it’s because they’ll get things faster.
