Showtime recently acquired the rights to broadcast Prince's 1987 concert film "Sign O' The Times." I watched it over the weekend. The band was tight, the show was awesome and this jazz lover noticed musical nods to Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller and a full blown performance of Charlie Parker's "Now's The Time" featuring some out of this world drumming by Sheila E.
