The 47th Annual Bix Beiderbecke Memorial Jazz Festival kicked off with a performance by Miss Jubilee & The Humdingers at the Putnam Thursday followed by evening performances by said band along with festival favorite The Fat Babies, the Bix Youth Band, the all star Benny Goodman Tribute and the Fat Waller Legacy Band -the latter 2 featuring pianist/vocalist Jeff Barnhart. Here's a taste of Barnhart doing his Fats Waller thing with the Au Brothers Band. BTW -the festival continues through Saturday, August 4th at Rhythm City Casino...still time to check out some great ol' skool jazz.
