Toy Inventor from Cordova Is On ABC's "The Toy Box" Tonight!

Cordova hovercraft inventor, retired aeronautical engineer, and self-published author Bob Windt will be on ABC Sunday pitching one of his toy inventions to a panel of kid judges on “The Toy Box.” Mr. Windt’s toy is a lightweight remote-controlled hovercraft.

  • “The Toy Box” is in its second season on ABC, and is hosted by Eric Stonestreet of “Modern Family” fame.
  • The show has amateur inventors competing for a top prize of cash and a contract with toy giant Mattel to bring their invention to market, with Toys “R” Us carrying the winning toy.
  • A panel of young judges experiment and play with the toys before deciding which inventors will make it to the final round.

Mr. Windt has been a familiar face in the Quad Cities community, bringing his popular educational program to dozens of schools and community events for years, including the Quad City Air Show, Bettendorf Science Expo, TugFest, markets and fairs, schools and Scouts, churches and homeschool events, and many more! Launching paper rockets has been the most popular of his science toys.

The episode featuring Mr. Windt will air tonight at 6 p.m. on ABC, with the final show airing sometime in December.
