Bed Bath & Beyond Plans On Permanently Closing 200 Stores!

Bed Bath & Beyond just announced that they plan on closing 200 stores over the next two years. The company also operates Buybuy Baby, Christmas Tree Shops and Harmon Face Values, but they will mainly close Bed Bath & Beyond stores starting later this year. The announcement comes after Bed Bath & Beyond released its quarterly earnings report and it's still unclear exactly what locations will close. Just like many other stores, Bed Bath & Beyond was forced to temporarily close due to the coronavirus pandemic. Bed Bath & Beyond Chief Executive Mark Tritton said,

"The impact of the Covid-19 situation was felt across our business during our fiscal first quarter, including loss of sales due to temporary store closures. We believe Bed Bath & Beyond will emerge from this crisis even stronger, given the strength of our brand, our people and our balance sheet."

The store closures is all part of Bed Bath & Beyond's restructuring plan to help "rebuild and grow the business" coming back from the impact of the pandemic.
