When Disneyland reopened, the one thing that was missing were FastPasses. Well, Disneyland decided to get rid of FastPasses and bring in a brand new program that launches tomorrow. Genie, Genie+ and “Lightning Lane” is a new secondary lane that will allow guests to bypass the traditional standby line. While Genie is a free tool that helps guests build a daily itinerary, Genie+ will be priced at $20 per day and is required for guests to use the Lightning Lane on certain attractions. However, if you want to go on a ride that is in high demand like Radiator Springs Racers, Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure, and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, those rides will be an additional cost. Genie+ will include PhotoPass downloads and audio experiences, but you'll only be allowed redeem one Lightning Lane per experience each day.
Genie+ can be purchased after you have entered the park and scanned your ticket. Tickets purchased after Dec. 8 can be added prior to your visit. All Lightning Lane reservations must be made after entering the theme park. If you choose not to use Genie+, you can continue to use the traditional standby line.
