IT'S GONNA BE ONE OF THOSE DAYS...

KWQC | Davenport | KWQC - Weather

A First Alert Day is in effect for portions of the KWQC viewing area, especially along and north of I-80 today and tonight.  A slight southerly shift in the track will allow for several inches of snow to fall NW of the Quad Cities.  Areas from Sigourney, IA to Mount Carroll, IL and north could receive 5+” of snow today, while areas along I-80, including the QC could pick up 3” or more.  This still doesn’t take into account for freezing rain that will develop this morning making the roads quite slippery during or just after the morning commute.  The wintry mix line will set up just south of the QC with it being all rain for areas south of Galesburg and Burlington.  This is quite a tough forecast across our viewing area today, if the storm wobbles 10 miles south or north, this will greatly impact what type precip you get today.  Stay tuned for more updates.  Long term we are still tracking an arctic outbreak by Friday.

TODAY: Wintry mix with all snow north. 33° Winds: SE 10-20 mph.

TONIGHT: Wintry mix.  Low 17°.  Winds: SE 5-10 mph.

TOMORROW: Partly sunny. High 22°.
