Festive Egg Nog

It's an honor for me (Debbie) to represent good, wholesome recipes from The Iowa Egg Council featuring delicious & nutritious eggs.

This week's featured recipe is another winning sweet treat perfect for a light dessert or special breakfast.

Festive Egg Nog

4 egg yolks

1 quart milk (4 cups)

1/3 cup sugar

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Place milk in 2-qt casserole dish. Cover & heat in microwave on full heat 5-6 minutes, or until temperature reaches 165 degrees F. Do not boil.
  2. Beat egg yolks lightly with sugar, spices, and vanilla.
  3. Stir one cup of hot milk into egg mixture and then gradually add all of the egg mixture into milk.
  4. Cover and heat in microwave on full power for 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 minutes, or until warmed.
