She's been on her grind for a long time. But, Cardi B became a household name when "Bodak Yellow" started climbing the charts and eventually reached the No. 1 spot.
Throughout the single, Cardi raps to the haters about the "money moves" she's making and the "bloody shoes" she rocks. So, when someone asked Christian Louboutin -- the famed creator of red bottom shoes -- about the rapper's shoutout in her song, the designer had a few things to say about it. In an interview with the New York Times at Paris Fashion Week, Louboutin admitted that he's not a big fan of rap. But, he's aware of Cardi.
“She has the hair like that?” the designer said, as he motioned his hands around his chin area. “She’s a rapper? This ‘Yellow’ song?” Then, he said that the recording artist's past as a dancer was similar to the women that he initially started making red bottoms for. “The first shoes I ever designed were for showgirls, people on stage. Showgirls have a kind of attitude, they’re driving forces,” he told the publication.
Louboutin was also asked if he would ever want to meet the star. "Why not?" he simply replied. We think we speak for everyone when we say let's make this happen.
