Jennifer Aniston and her fellow Friends cast mates did what they could for their costar Matthew Perry before his tragic death.

In a new interview with Vanity Fair published this week, the Morning Show actress reflected on her longtime friend's October 2023 death at age 54, sharing rare comments about how she and fellow Friends stars Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer "did everything [they] could" for him as he struggled with addiction, per Page Six.

"It almost felt like we'd been mourning Matthew for a long time because his battle with that disease was a really hard one for him to fight," she said.

When Perry ultimately passed away from the acute effects of ketamine, the Friends stars were just as devastated as the rest of the world. However, Aniston confessed that she feels "glad" that Perry is finally "out of that pain" of addiction.

"As hard as it was for all of us and for the fans, there's a part of me that thinks this is better," she said.

Aniston mourned her friend in an emotional tribute on Instagram, noting that saying goodbye brought about "an insane wave of emotions I've never experienced before. She also remembered him on the first anniversary of his death by sharing several throwback photos of them from the set of the beloved sitcom.

Elsewhere in the interview, Aniston also made a rare comment about the fallout from her 2005 divorce to Brad Pitt amid his then-rumored romance with Mr. & Mrs. Smith costar Angelina Jolie.
